Wyman Honors The Scholarship Foundation

Wyman honors Community Partner, The Scholarship Foundation of St. Louis, at the 2026 Amplify Gala

Three alumni and two community partners were honored at Wyman’s 2026 Amplify Gala for their extraordinary commitment to young people, the community, and Wyman.

Our community partner honorees represent what it looks like to put hope into action: creating vision, building pathways, and helping young people shape their futures. Through their leadership and collaboration, partners make Wyman’s work possible.

This year, we are proud to honor The Scholarship Foundation of St. Louis for their steadfast partnership and unwavering commitment to advancing higher education access and completion for young people.

Wyman is honored to partner with The Scholarship Foundation of St. Louis, which has opened doors to higher education for more than 100 years. Their mission is rooted in a powerful belief: an educated society is essential to a healthy democracy. Every part of their work centers on putting students first.

The Scholarship Foundation supports students through advising, awarding, and advocacy. They provide access to post-secondary education for students who otherwise wouldn’t have the financial means to pursue their goals – awarding scholarship grants and renewable, interest-free loans.

The Scholarship Foundation’s Student Advising Program goes beyond financial aid, providing guidance and decision-making assistance to students and families along with support throughout their educational journeys. Their student advocacy program engages student leaders through an 8-month fellowship aimed at cultivating skills and understanding methods for effecting systemic change.

In 2025 alone, The Scholarship Foundation awarded 546 students from across the St. Louis region more than $6.4 million in scholarship grants and interest-free loans. Their impact is clear: 70% of students who receive financial aid from the Scholarship Foundation graduate within 6 years, exceeding the national rate for all students, and well above the benchmark of just 16% for students from similar socio-economic backgrounds.

So, when Wyman heard from students that more support was needed for plans beyond high school, who better to turn to than The Scholarship Foundation?  The Scholarship Foundation was instrumental in helping Wyman develop the postsecondary support that is now core to the Wyman Leaders program.

From early planning, applying for joint funding, creating higher education partnerships, sharing with others, and logging hundreds of miles driving across Missouri with Wyman staff to meet students where they were, The Scholarship Foundation has been there every step of the way.

They are Wyman’s longest-standing financial aid partner. More than 50 Wyman students have received more than $2 million in support through The Foundation’s scholarship grants and interest-free loans. The Scholarship Foundation remains our deeply trusted partner on higher education, especially during these times of increased barriers for students.

We are proud to recognize The Scholarship Foundation of St. Louis and are grateful for the work they do in our community. As their Executive Director, Faith Sandler, reminds us, “The Scholarship Foundation exists for the primary purpose of fortifying democracy…it is about positive educational outcomes for all students, and in particular the students who, by race or class…are priced out of higher education.”
