Wyman’s mission is to empower teens from disadvantaged circumstances to live successful lives and build strong communities. Our programs are crucial to supporting teens today, yet we must also address the root causes of why our programs are needed. We have a responsibility to help breakdown the inequitable structures that negatively impact the teens we serve.
As a youth-serving organization, we are called to work and advocate for equitable systems, fair policies, and humane practices across all systems with which our young people interact and engage.
Wyman’s Advocacy Framework centers around three strategies:
- Establish a Youth Leadership Council to create authentic youth-adult partnerships and develop strong youth advocates.
- Direct advocacy on mission-aligned issues.
- Develop strategic partnerships with value-aligned coalitions.
