Position Openings: Wyman Leaders Program Summer 2019 Opportunities

Come join our team! Wyman is looking for committed, energetic, youth-focused individuals who are excited about the opportunity to spend their summer supporting long-term impact for young people in our region.

Middle School Prep Academy Coach:

Prep Academy coaches are seasonal members of the Wyman Leaders Program Team. They work with a cluster of 8-10 middle school students, providing academic, social, and emotional support. Coaches are responsible for the supervision and safety of students, teaching elective classes and performing tasks that support the daily operations of the program.

Post-Secondary Access Team Leader:

The PSA Team Leader position is a seasonal, supervisory member of the Wyman Leaders program team. The Team Leader is responsible for the direct supervision of seasonal program staff and will work with the Post-Secondary Access Manager to ensure smooth delivery of summer programming. In this role, the Team Leader will take a leadership role in the planning and delivery of these experiences.

Post-Secondary Access Group Leader:

The Post-Secondary Access Group Leaders will lead programming for the third and fourth year teens in the Wyman Leaders program. Roles differ for year three and year four programming. A brief overview of third and fourth year programming and staff roles follows:

Third year:

During Year Three programming, staff will facilitate an 8 day college tour experience for up to 40 youth entering their junior year of high school. The college tour experience provides youth with an opportunity to meet and learn from college students and faculty all while determining which schools and/ or post-secondary plan is the best fit for them. The youth will learn what campus life is like on various campuses, learn about other post-secondary options and engage in service learning.

Fourth year:

During Year Four programming, staff will facilitate a 7-day community leadership experience for up to 40 youth entering their senior year of high school. The year four program focuses on post-secondary preparation activities such as learning about the FAFSA, financial aid, leadership and professional skills workshops to ensure students are ready for their post-secondary careers.
