Position Openings: High School and Persistence Coaches

High School Coach

The High School Coach is a member of the Wyman Leaders Program Team and is responsible for leading the success of a cluster of 30-40 Scholars. The High School Coach operates from an academic and educational lens in their work with the team, teachers and parents to implement academic interventions that differentiate instruction based on scholar need. This position drives scholar success by empowering each scholar to achieve academic, leadership, and social/emotional excellence by providing ongoing academic advising, mentorship, connections to resources and opportunities including supplemental academic enrichment and support for scholars with academic challenges, tutoring supports, self-advocacy development, college and career counseling, community building opportunities, and leadership development.

Each year, the ultimate goal of a High School Coach is for their scholars to advance to the next grade level having achieved a 3.2 grade point average, emerged as a leader in their school and community, and realized their fullest potential and personal vision.

Qualified individuals will have a Bachelor’s degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related field and preferably 2-4 years of relevant experience.

Persistence Coach

The Persistence Coach is a member of the Wyman Leaders Program Team and is responsible for coordinating all post-secondary persistence work for post-secondary level scholars in the program. The Persistence Coach provides immediate support and intervention, access to relevant services, and facilitates leadership and character driven experiences. This role supports a summer orientation session for Wyman 1st and 2nd year students out of high school. These experiences will ultimately contribute to the program’s vision of collective leadership, in urban communities among scholars, throughout their educational journey and post-college careers.

Qualified individuals will have a Bachelor’s degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related field and preferably 2-4 years of relevant experience.
