Wyman Center Designated a ‘Promise Place’

This week, Wyman Center was designated a Promise Place by America’s Promise Alliance, the nation’s largest partnership dedicated to improving the lives of children and youth. A Promise Place is any school, community center, place of worship, business, or organization that provides youth with the Alliance’s Five Promises – caring adults; safe places; a healthy start; an effective education; and opportunities to help others. The Alliance focuses on ending the high school dropout crisis by bringing together organizations across the country that provide these five promises to young people.

As a Promise Place, Wyman has earned the distinction of a becoming local partner in the Grad Nation campaign, a ten-year effort to mobilize the nation to end the high school dropout crisis.  Wyman joins a network of several other Promise Places both locally and nationwide that share and receive information on how best to provide more Promises to young people. By providing all five of the promises, Wyman supports teens academically, socially, and emotionally so that they can survive and thrive.
